Dandruff, also named as seborrheic dermatitis is an ordinary scalp disorder that has been observed in both the men and women. The problem arises due to dryness of the skin, the increase in the growth of fungus and bacteria on the scalp, the irritation on the oily skin, the inflammatory skin condition and many other similar factors. Dandruff on the skin causes discomfort, itchiness and white patches showing the extreme formation of the dry skin on the scalp.

Neem or Indian Lilac

Neem, also named as Indian Lilac, hold the antibacterial or antifungal properties that can effectively treat dandruff and numerous other hair problems like scalp itching, scalp acne and hair fall. What you need to do is take four glasses of water and boil some neem leaves into it until it reduces to 2 glasses. Then let it cool and strain the solution. Use this extract two to three times in a week to wash the hair.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Nobody can deny the fact that Apple cider vinegar provides a lot of benefits to the overall body. It is effectively utilized in heartburn therapy, face mask, deodorant and many more. Dandruff and various scalp treatments can be dealt with the apple cider vinegar. By reinstating the pH balance of the scalp, it reduces the growth of yeast. It works as a natural hair cleanser and aids in cleaning the blocked pores and hair follicles. The best remedy is to take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and mix it with an equal quantity of water with 15 to 20 drops of tea tree oil in it. Then rub it on the scalp, massage it and wash your hair after few minutes. Consider using this natural treatment two to three times in a week.

Coconut Oil

Just like neem, coconut oil also holds antifungal properties and can completely eliminate dandruff. It moistens the dry scalp and gives a relieve from itching. The best way to apply it is to take some quantity of coconut oil and mix half of the amount of lemon juice in it. Apply it to the scalp and massage it for few minutes. Leave your hair for at least 20 minutes and then wash them. By observing this remedy two to three times in a week, you can see effective results.

Baking Soda

Though it is a mild exfoliant, yet baking soda aids in removing the dead cells from the surface of the skin and soaks up the extra oil. It helps in maintaining and balancing the pH levels on the scalp and decreases the growth of fungus that produces dandruff. You just need to wet the hair and apply some baking soda onto the scalp. Rub it and after some minutes, wash the hair with warm water. For few weeks, follow this remedy one to two times in a week. Avoid using the shampoo after having this treatment.

Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil helps a great deal in reducing dandruff. It is a natural moisturizer and can treat the scalp dryness effectively. The best method to apply it is heat the extra virgin olive oil until it becomes somewhat warmer. Rub and massage it into the scalp for few minutes and then cover the hair with a warm towel. Wait for at least 45 minutes or overnight so that it can give effective results. Wash your hair with a good quality shampoo and do conditioning for them. You can use this remedy few times in a week.

White Vinegar

When it comes to dandruff, white vinegar is usually suggested due to its effectiveness. Whether apple cider or white vinegar, such products contain acetic acid that inhibits the growth of fungus on the scalp. It also helps in getting relieve from itching. You can use white vinegar in two ways. Either take two cups of water and add one-half cup of white vinegar in it. Wash your hair with this solution after cleansing the hair with a good quality shampoo. Another method is to take one part of olive oil, three parts of water and two parts of white vinegar and massage the scalp with this mixture. Leave your hair for at least ten minutes. Then wash them with some mild good quality shampoo. You may use either of the remedies once or twice in a week.
